p4 2.4 @ 12*200 ??

I'm sure it's just that when you click on the "frequency multiple" it will give you option of setting the multiple or locking it in it's place.Kind of enable or disable....I'm thinking, because you'll want to lower your multiple from 18 down to 12. That is of course, if you're wanting to run at the 800mhz. Right now that chip is at 18 x 133 = 2.4, so, 18 x 200=3.6; which would not work!!! When the multiple is "12" x 200, it would give you back a 2.4 again. You might get as high as a 15 multiplier, which would result in a 3.0ghz. ( or if water cooled, a 16 muliple = 3.2!!) Ok, so now I'm just ranting on, but you get the point....

no idea - the motherboard is supposed to read the locked multiplier from the chip, and for boards that DO allow P4 multiplier changing, the effect is always just an illusion. you can change the multiplier from 18x to 100x and your chip will still be running at 2.4ghz (given a 133mhz fsb)
so i don't know what that's all about

i m wondering if it means there s method unlocking p4 s multiplier that i never know??
or there s main board could unlock it .. but i dont think p4pe does and never even heard there s any.

or if it means the new stepping p4 allows changing multiple by any "unlocking" method?
but aint those p4 support 800fsb all run 200?

and it says
3) Only supported Northwood/WM CPU

does "WM" mean the old socket 423 p4 ??

completely confused by Asus

Willies were also available in Socket478 near the end.
