Hey guys! Right now I have a 2010 iMac that has worked good but it has started to become very slow recently. Obviously I can't really play games on it but I want to. The screen resoulution is 1440p so I would prefer to stay at that. I was looking for a laptop that would be portable and I could take it places or do work sitting outside etc.. but I would also want to be able to hook it up to a monitor and run games at 1440p. Please don't talk me into getting a desktop because I am not looking for that. Please offer your suggestions.

I had been looking st the razer blade(1060) version but I don't think it will do 1440p comfortably. Please let me know if that assumption is false. If it is please offer some alternatives. Thanks!!

A 1060 is not enough to do 1440p decently at higher settings at a stable 60 in new games.
Anything form this list will

Thanks man! Do you know a laptop that holds a 1070 that is portable and not too gamer-like? That was one reason i liked the razer blade because it had one logo and didn't have stuff like "republic of gamers."

Asus ROG GL502VS
Gigabyte P57X v6
Gigabyte P37X v6
Gigabyte P35X v6
HP Omen 17 Gamer
Sager NP9152 / Clevo P750DM2

These are the least gamey looking laptops. Do note that if the laptop has the option to have a 1080 p screen or a 4k screen get the 1080p as 4 k is unuesable at anything below 17 inch (text to small) and upping the resolution results into a less crisp image. An imac has a large 1440p screen but a 15.6inch 1080p screen has a larger pixel density than a imac so you won't notice a difference. This also means that you can get the razer blade as you won't notice the difference between a 1080p and 1440p screen with the size differences.

Got it. I am sort of new to these and want to clarify something. If i buy a laptop with a 1080p screen, can i run a 1440p external monitor? Or will that not work? Thanks!

Yes no problem.
