what business is it of paypal to ask whether its government approved?, legal i understand. but arent democratically elected governments the peoples representatives.

This is why I boycott Paypal. They have a history of blocking transfers and freezing accounts for no reason. They are truly a despicable company.

I personally never had an issue with PayPal over 10 years. I do know some merchants had problems with them.

Therein lies the problem. Paypal acts like a bank when it freezes and holds your funds indefinitely, yet they are not held up to follow any banking regulations.
