How do I connect 5.1 to 7.1 on a pc? Is it possible or do I have to go buy 7.1 speakers. Ty for any reply and advice. Be well!

Is it possible to hook up a 5.1 speakers to a pc I ordered which has 7.1 Do I have to now go out and buy a new set of 7.1 to make it compatible? Thank you for your time and any help. ✌

You would connect the 5.1 speakers to the front(green), surround(black), and center/sub (orange) outputs of the PC. Then select 5.1 in the audio control panel.
You would not use the side surrounds (silver).
