PC says connected to the internet, But no internet

My pc says that it has internet connection (taskbar, settings says so) but when I try to use the internet nothing works and i just get the "can not connect". My pc does have a virus and I am in the middle of trying to work that out. Any advice would help, Thank you

Hmm. Well, first try going to the command line (cmd.exe) and typing
ping 8.8.8.8
If you get errors like "network not reached" or packet expiration your internet has a problem. If you get a response telling you an average, median, and high/low ping time or something along those lines than you have a different problem, quite likely a virus.

I will try that, yes I do belive that it is a virus, I am trying to run some removal tools, thank you for the help
