Im going to either buy a 635 Propus, or a 555 BE and unlock it.

My question is, what date stamp on the processor would indicate that it is a Quadcore that was locked to Dualcore?

I did some research and found this, http://www.cpu-world.com/step_codes/C/CACAC%20AC.html , which says Deneb cores, so I assume that means those CPU's listed would be x4 to x2.

So If i get this right, can I go to a store, look at the cpu through the side window on the box, and if it has one of these datestamps,

1004CPMW
1008FPMW
1004BPMW

It would be an almost guaranteed unlock, considering I have all the required hardware. It would also mean it is a 4 Core locked to a 2 Core.

Am I correct here?

Thanks in advance.

All Phenom x2 & x3 processors are quad core with 1 or 2 cores locked. When I got my 550BE and unlocked it I did alot of research as to the chances of unlocking and though many people said it was around 50/50 anyone with real numbers suggested 80-90% on the Dual cores Tri cores its lower. I don't think the date stamps or any other numbers give any indication at all. At the end of the day its a risk so don't try it unless you can live with a dual. Also I think all 555s are C3 not like my 550 which is C2.
