Greetings,

I have a somewhat old laptop that is generally working fine, but it has one main problem: the numpad "+" key will go on and off as if someone is holding it from time to time, and this will happen for random amounts of time. For a temporary fix I have detached the internal keyboard ribbon cable, but it would be preferable if I could only disable the numpad "+" key or the numpad part of the keyboard itself. Is there a way to accomplish this physically or digitally?

Now that the physical keyboard is disabled, no. Before the removal, yes, but I'm pretty sure it was independent of whether the on-screen keyboard was ever on or off. Hope that answers your question

You don't need to take that single key, just don't touch it. If you stay in lower case and touch that key; it should product a "=" on the screen.

Does that cause any trouble?
