Pictures won't download

Pictures taken today show up on my camera..but when I insert sd card into laptop the pictures taken today will not download onto the laptop. They do show up on my camera. The sd card is about 6 years old.

Are the photos showing up on the computer at all? If not it's possible that the camera isn't actually displaying the pictures, rather just small thumbnails of them
