Most laptops are bought with a legitimate OEM Windows installed already. Manufacturers distributing laptops with pirated Windows is a very bad idea as 1. It is supporting criminals and 2. It breaks Microsoft's ToS and it may be de-activated at any time.

Additionally, it's ILLEGAL in many jurisdictions. Pay for your shit. If not, there's always Linux and Wine.

Also, Windows may be used for free using the un-activated version.

The answer is I don't know. But I am pretty sure any pirated version of Windows install viruses onto your laptop which at best will only affect performance. At worse it the virus will be sending data such as keystrokes to the originator which can be used hack your laptop and perform identity theft. Identity theft can take a lot of time and money to minimize the damage.
