16gb 2x8 ddr3 1866 G. Skill Trident
then im upgrading my graphics card i got a hd 7770 came with the purchase of the system but im gonna upgrade too gtx 1060 6gb got a corsair power supply 750 watt
anyways with all that being said should i be able to play Vr oculus rift ok/good ?

Solution
Incorrect.
The GTX 1060 6gb slightly UNDER performs.
The GTX 980, non TI, has a peak OC around 10% faster than a GTX 1060.

Again, i don't believe a 980 would provide a smooth experience in every game.

A 980TI would be closer, a GTX 1070 would be better, with a GTX 1080 being ideal.

an if anyone is gonna post a page from the VR recommendations its not that accurate ive seen plenty of pc rigs slighty under the recommended processor speed but with a graphics card like a gtx 1060 6gb or higher play Vr like perfectly lol

No. It will run but not well.
It takes a significant amount of power to run VR - you're talking around 1440p resolution with a FPS which must never drop below 90FPS.

A GTX 1070 would be a much better choice, with the GTX 1080 being ideal.

A GTX 1060 could cause problems in a number of titles - but work perfectly in others.

no your incorrect at factory lvl yes gtx 980 without the Ti slight over performs the gtx 1060 6gb
but the gtx 1060 6gb overclocks way better than the gtx 980 an then over performs it
1060 consumes less power and has more VRAM. It also has newer features that are specific to Pascal. It also performs better and overclocks higher than the 980. No point in getting last-gen hardware when newer cards are faster and cheaper.

ive heard the gtx 1060 6gb would run all the games great but then ive also heard as the games/vr get more an more updated gtx in the future may not run vr games the great unless you got like a powerful i7 or something then you might be fine with the gtx 6gb but as far as me with my i5 3570k you may be right future wise to be on the safe side as you kinda said an get the gtx 1070 so ima get the gtx 1070 i can afford that but that what im gonna do ill save up for another month or two an just be on the safe side an get a gtx 1070 but thanks for all your feedback
