Does anyone know if Cingular will offer any rate plan specials or phone
deals to kick off the new year? I am getting ready to switch from AT&T
as I need to upgrade my phone. I am also currently without a contract.

I think the dust will settle first on the holiday promotions before any new
promotions are offered, and holiday promotions are typically about as good as
it gets.

I didn't see any rate plan holiday promotions? Did I miss something?
Perhaps you were referring to phone promotions. I know that I
definitely want the Motorola 551.

Just Google great cell phone deals and you will find a bunch...some you have
to be 45 days out of a contract

There's a free phone promotion on the Cingular website now.

As I recall, there was a $50 mail-in rebate on the Motorola V551 that was good
through the end of the year.
