I've been having quite a dilemma and I'd appreciate it if you could help me finally decide. I'll mostly be using it for school work (power points, essays, data etc..) with light gaming.

The three laptops:
Macbook Pro with Retina Display
Dell XPS 13
Dell XPS 15

My problems are that I'm not sure about support (programs wise) if I chose the Macbook while with the XPS 13 that's not a problem. I've read reviews about the XPS 13 and how it has driver problems which makes me skeptical; the XPS 15 on the other hand hasn't had any complaints. If I were to get the XPS 15, I would have to configure it without touchscreen and reduce its resolution down to 1920x1080 for budget reasons compared to the XPS 13's 3200x1800 resolution with touch. I'm also concerned about how long it'll last; I've heard Macbooks age well. The XPS 15 also has a dedicated Nvidia 960m graphics card, 6th generation quad core I7, and comes with 1 TB HDD with a 32 GB SSD compared to the Macbooks 128 and XPS 13's 256 GB SSDs. Is the 32GB SSD on the XPS 15 specifically for installing the OS on? That's what I'm hoping for to get a good startup time.

Is the XPS 15 worth dropping retina display, the XPS 13's touch and 3200x1800 resolution, and an SSD replaced by an HDD for its bigger size, dedicated graphics card, and 6th gen quad-core i7?

If not, what do I choose between the Macbook Pro vs. the XPS 13? The touchscreen and resolution is higher on the XPS 13 though the resolution is hardly a difference and touchscreen isn't that big of a deal though its nice to have. I'm also worried about program support for the Macbook but I read it does age well and that is something I'd like; the XPS 13's reviews also state driver issues and black screens.

Prices are relatively the same and again, I'm really only concerned with aging and the XPS 13's problems and if its worth taking the risk and see if I get a faulty one.

If your programs run OK on a MAC and you don't care about the price, that may be a good way to go. Resale value is always higher and build quality is very good.

Why are you limiting the other picks to the XPS models? Lenovo Y models come with pretty good specs http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y700-series/y700-15-inch/ 80NV005LUS is a good model there, comes with a solid state drive. Unless you are installing a lot of large games or keeping a lot of movies on the thing you won't need a larger drive.
