Please help me fix my computer!

Hello,
i have a toshiba satellite3 laptop and if it powers down when i turn it back on it will turn on like it wants to load but all it loads is a black screen with a cursor.. and it wont do anything so i have to push the power button and then i have to load windows recovery and sometimes it takes like an hour to load the recovery any suggestions on how to fix it?

Hi

Run a hard drive test in DOS... HIRENS BOOT CD etc, it sounds like a failing hard drive...
