Solved! PLEASE HELP me restore my old chrome bookmarks!

I had to "refresh" my windows to an earlier state but when I redownloaded chrome it synced me up to my bookmarks from 5-6 years ago instead of today/yesterday.

I did find the correct bookmarks file in windows.old, it did not have a suffix.

I've compared it to a exported chrome bookmarks file and they are similar, but different formats

The correct bookmarks file starts with

( "checksum": "6aae5f37d38aac0a52590d5029b73836", "roots"

while the wrong bookmark file is in this format :

Any idea how I can get the first correct bookmark file to get imported into chrome?

Im desperate to recover all my old bookmarks, I am a serial bookmarking organizer

When I attempt to import the correct bookmark file into chrome it gives me a green checkmark and says completed but nothing is added.

I've never tried this after a refresh or reset but it's worth trying System Restore to a point before yesterday.
