2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

->15"

3. What screen resolution do you want?

->Full HD

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

->doesnt matter

5. How much battery life do you need?

->not important

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

->BF3 (high)
->COD
->Generals2 (when it comes out)


7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)

-> Virtual Machines (this will be the main task, 2nd will be gaming)

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?

->doesnt matter

->Untill I no longer have a use for it, my current one I have had it for 5 years now.

->Asus

--> i really dont care, as long as it is well built and reliable hardware

I'm looking at MSI GT60 right now, looks pretty good, what do you guys think? or can you suggest an alternative?

Seems like MSI has better specs, for example, it has Nvidia 670M 3GB graphics as compared to Asus, which has 660M 2GB.
As well as HDD in RAID 0, and KILLER network cards...

BUT... How about reliability?... I've never owned anything other than a motherboard made by MSI (which is still running after 3 years)

What do you guys have to say in terms of reliability for MSI and Asus laptops?

Definitely, if you can wait awhile, you'll get a better idea of what is going on. Personally, I prefer Asus, but I like MSI as well, both are great, considering though that the GT60 has better specs, I'd probably go with if I were you.
