How do I get my Asus Laptop to start in safe mode ? The laptop starts up but won't go past a certain screen saver . It also doesn't seem to have the power button installed on the front screen. Only the battery button and the network button. almost like it has been deleted. The laptop was acting like it had been compromised the last time I used it. I am thinking maybe I should Take it to a Professional IT person to get it fixed since I am not the most Laptop literate . Any help You can give would be much appreciated.

Try powering the laptop then keep pressing the Function 8 key . That sometimes does the job.

What about getting to SAFE MODE, where you can do more trouble shooting?
For which keys to press on boot, to get your computer to different boot modes, (BIOS or Safe Mode) just do a quick Google, or You-tube search.
Each manufacturer is different and who is gunna remember them all?
