[citation][nom]tmanishere[/nom]I'm not a Christian, but I think it's pretty. If people could enjoy it without religious connotation, even better. Happy Holidays everyone![/citation]
Don't worry, the tree was never Christian to begin with, just remember where Jesus was born and where you normally find pine trees 😛 The church just took over Saturnalia since it was the biggest festival of the year at the time and decided that Dec 25th (the last day of Saturnalia) was Jesus new birthday. It was all about controlling the population and putting their own rules in place, pretty much what religions still do now 😛

The Pope being in Europe, it was probably a Samsung Galaxy Tab, and they couldn't tell the difference between it and the iPad. They seem to have a problem with that in the EU. :)

Curious that those running the US media want to associate Android with the Pope, someone they routinely denigrate for allegedly suppressing information on Catholic priests that molest children. Just some food for thought.

So Android is now associated with the wacky Catholic church. And just like that, millions of Android owners hung their collective heads in justified shame.

It is both ironic and prophetic that the term "Christian" means "Christ-like", however modern Christian religions stray so far from the teachings of Christ by adopting pagan customs that it more closely resembles something else - that being a great Harlot known as Babylon the Great as false religion would be referred to in Revelation.

How could you acknowledge that you've been following false beliefs when it comes to certain religious traditions, like Christmas, and then turn around and denounce "non believers", and bring up Revelations?

I'm asking, because I think rationally.

I never claimed to associate myself with those pagan beliefs, nor have I denounced non-believers. I'm simply stating the fact that the system we live in today was foreseen a long time ago. You're reading into things more than you need to.

Somehow, I thought this article would turn into a iPad vs Android war... but to my surprise, it turned into a religious conversation.

Divine intervention?

[citation][nom]edvinasm[/nom]... probably one time a year I get to see my neighbors shaking hands without giving evil look after...[/citation]

Or maybe it's the spirit of Christmas after all...

You're referencing the Harlot of Babylon, an enemy of god, closely tied with the Antichrist, in reference to people having a little fun with some old traditions, buying family members gifts and celebrating baby Jesus.

The references like you just made, are ONLY made in effort to condemn a group of people. Usually in a way that suggests that they should basically be struck dead by God, since they're sinful behavior makes them less than people.

If you didn't understand how that particular symbolism, regarding the Harlot of Babylon, and the attached prophecy, have been used, then maybe you shouldn't have said it. If you did, I can't say what I think of you on this forum, because I'd get banned.

I'm reading too far into things?! Oh... I guess I am. Because I wasn't directly my post directly at YOU, it was also directed at a few of the other "religious" posters, who did mention non-believers. You're right... you weren't attacking the non-religious, but rather other Christians who might practice pagan traditions.

What I was trying to point out though, was the absurdity of someone actually realizing that a lot of what was taught to them in their organised religion was based in lies, and stolen from past cultures, and not take the time to fact check any of the rest of their religion. It's like, deciding to think rationally only 2% on a subject and base the rest on delusion...

I can assure you, that I do understand it and I'm sorry that you feel that way. I agree with you, It is wrong to judge others (only God has that authority). However the command to "Flee from Babylon the Great or share in her sins" is pretty clear. Putting a dress on a pig still makes it a pig. The celebratory traditions of Saternalia involved Marry Making and Gift Giving (among other things), these things in themselves are not wrong and doing them in the name of Christ is not wrong - but if you look up the origins of Christmas you will see that the date of December 25 marks the final day of the Saternalia celebrations, which involved, everything we mentioned above except in the name of a Pagan god. Saying it's "in the name of Christ" was a tool to indoctrinate Pagans - Jesus wasn't even born in December anyways. It's why for a time, Christmas was even banned in England and the Americas in the 17th century.

[citation][nom]jimmy-bee[/nom]The so called Christmas tree is based in Paganism but then again it was the Catholic church that decided Dec 25 was the birthday of Christ Jesus. Jesus was actually born in the spring and Dec 25th used to be the biggest Pagan holiday of the year. But that's the Catholic church for you.As a Christian I don't celebrate Dec 25, it is now all about money anyway and a holiday for non believers to celebrate and line the pockets of big buiness.[/citation]

Don't feel bad Jimmy, most of these people are morons and don't even know about Catholic hypocrisy.

Regarding the article"Oh. wows, him pushed da button aw by himself." Big deal, some crusty old bastard put his finger on the screen, how is this news, who cares ?!

[citation][nom]amdfangirl[/nom]Yes, Christmas is a pagan holiday. For me it's a consumerist scam to help us justify the need for material goods. Others may beg to differ. I couldn't care less.If you are a Christian, celebrate Christmas, it really doesn't matter what day you do, because the point of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ, really doesn't matter if it's the wrong day tbh, as long as you celebrate his birth. As for me, I'm glad I get a holiday for this.[/citation]

Wow AMD, long time no see, glad you are still on the forums...

That looks really Picturesque. I would love to have been there at the big switch-on. Over in England it seems like many councils actually go out of their way NOT to celebrate Christmas, including street lighting. Such sentiment is reflected in some suburbs, too (miserable sods).

Does the Pope actually know what an Android is? I'm not sure. What about the commercial aspect of this issue, and the questions it raises? I'm undecided. I just think it's nice to see people celebrating Christmas in a big way instead of being down right miserable year in, year out..

Well technically this probably doesn't even require the use of Android, but of course this is news just to feed the appetite for the Google fanatics.
