Power on Problem

I have Acer Aspire 4540 laptop. When i do power on its power lights on for 5 seconds and turned off. There is no display on LED during this period. Tell me what will I do now.

Have you ever replaced the battery on the laptop? is your power jack that you plug your charger into loose? if it is loose, it's possible it's not actually charging the battery anymore and therefor wont power on, there could be any number of reasons for not powering on.. I would start by troubleshooting the easiest reasons first as I have listed above.

Possible causes:

1. Bad motherboard or bad firmware.
2. Bad component(s), such as RAM or CPU.

If the laptop consistently does this regardless of whether on battery or the charger, there's a fair chance the board needs reworked or replaced, or one of those components needs to be replaced.

Prostar is correct, I was just trying to have OP start off with the easy options first. The ones you have stated are expensive fixes.

Indeed they are, sadly. Sometimes the parts aren't so bad, but paying a technician for the labor can run the price up quickly.
