Powered speakers (BX5a) connecting to a home receiver?

I have a older receiver that only has speaker connections for wire speakers ends. These BX5a has a XLR or a TRS input. Is there anyway to get a adapter to connect these to a older receiver or do I just have to get a different receiver?

Hello... those speaker are designed for a Line level inputs only... not designed for using with a Ol'day recievers... if you have line level outputs connect them... connect a DVD/CD/tape player/Mixing Board to them as a test. they are designed for Professional Video and music production equipment.

I wanted to use them in my store, so is there anything I could get to replace that old receiver to use with these speakers? I'm sure I need to upgrade anyway. =)

Helllo... what signals do you need to use with them? FM/AM? CD/DVD? phonograph? Tape player? MP3's? ETC?

My computer is plugged into my receiver via 3.5 for music. I have a 3.5 out from my computer to the CD input on the back. I have seen a few wireless/blue tooth options on some receivers, looked interesting.

Hello... I Got something to try with your old reciever... use a TAPE OUTPUT, what ever is playing or selected will be at the tape output connection and is a line level signal... you will need a STD 1/4" to RCA adaptor for each speaker too, and will be a unbalanced connection.

TRS INPUT: This jack accepts 1/4" connections with either balanced or unbalanced wiring.
For balanced wiring, a three-conductor TRS plug is necessary. The input wiring of a TRS
connector should be as follows:
< TRS TIP . . . . . . . . . . signal positive (+)
< TRS RING . . . . . . . . signal negative (–)
< TRS SLEEVE . . . . . . signal ground (shield)

The solution above will work fine if the speakers have their own volume control. If not you can use a speaker to line level adapter instead of tape out with the same solution. Or you can just connect the PC to the speakers using the solution above. Or you can connect a bluetooth sender to the PC and then use the solution above with the matching bluetooth receiver at the speakers.

Hello... Yes, with my suggestion you have to use the speaker volume controls... and just have a mute on the reciever... SEE what i mean about those speakers, they are Designed for a VIDEO/MUSIC production use, get some standard speakers for use with a Reciever, fast cheap and easy control of audio settings.
