Question Print screen function is capturing unwanted desktop background

Hi. When I use the print screen function and paste into MS Paint, the screen is capturing part of my desktop background and putting it on the right hand side of the capture (see below). I do not want this, has anyone encountered this issue?

Ok thanks. I think what I've been doing is pressing Control, Alt and Printscreen, which is not the right way to do it.
