When I switch on my laptop I get a blank black screen with the words at the top .."The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum." Any ideas on what it means and how to correct it please?

Solution
Sounds like it could br graphics driver/software. . You could go to the compaq/hp website and download the latest driver as the current driver could still be corrupt
Ok on hp the boot menu is f9. So if you put he disc in then turn it off. Turn on and start tapping f9 after the hp screen you should get boot menu. Select the cd/dvd drive and enter. When it loads ip choose the language and keyboard. Then next page should have 'repair your computer' click that. Then it may say start up repair click that. Now leave it to attempt a repair and it will tell you when its done then just reatart

Just found out that if I plug in a monitor to the laptop, it boots up ok and in fact the same picture appears on the laptop screen as well as the monitor at the same time. I swtched the laptop off and tried it again in isolation and it seems to work perfectly now. However I would assume that there must be an intermittent fault but any ideas what it would means please?
