Problem with samsung tv

Hi there i was wondering if anyone could help me my friend has a samaung tv that has a slight problem with the screen see below :

Is this an easy fix or would you need to get the screen replaced?

:-( not looking good. Odds are it is a tab driver failure / failing. IF so, it can't be fixed as they are bonded to the side of the panel. However, some times people are able to apply some slight pressure to the "bonding area" where the tab cables are attached using soft "spongy" material that presses down. You can test gently using your finger or an eraser to see if it has any impact on the picture.... and yes you have to get at the back side of the set (taking off the back panel and possibly some other frame components to get access to the flex cables).

I'd check out what warranty it came with.
