Problems with new TV

I have tried the method of manually entering 8 8 8 8 but was unsuccessful. Please note the TV has not been connected to Wifi since being bought which was 4-5 months ago. any suggestions?

Do you mean you tried using 8.8.8.8 (Google's DNS address) for the DNS setting on your HDTV? Is your HDTV set to use a manual IP address or DHCP (get one assigned)? Does your HDTV "see" and able to join the wireless network?
