Now I know some kind of deal is out there somewhere, and with Canadian shipping too!

I'm tired of being on a lower rung of graphics performance via mobile gaming and am ready to step it up.

requirements: i7, GTX670m and higher, 15.6" FullHD screen. the rest is negligible, spec wise

I have found this for now, and know it is american:

or for 2$ cheaper

Thoughts on a machine that may run 1300 with tax, shipping and mentioned hardware?

You're going to end up paying the Canadian tax on any laptop. The only "decent" laptop brand that can be bought on store shelves (as opposed to mail order which is at least 20% more than it would be in the USA) is Asus.

Seriously, go to your local Canada Computers if you have one near you and check out the Asus Republic of Gamers laptops. They're statistically the most reliable laptops available (by manufacturer, all lineups included) and can be pretty powerful. Here are a few examples

MSI is halfway decent too

The GTX670M is actually a Fermi card, not a kepler card. it's a slightly upclocked GTX570M. You may be able to find something with a 570M.

A machine that meets your requirements and fits within a $1300 CAD envelope with tax and shipping included doesn't exist. Saying that you know there's a compromise out there is wishful thinking. The GTX670M alone starts at $300 (tray price), add on to that an i7 processor at $400 (tray price) and you're already at $700 between the two components before including the motherboard and display at $100 each (minimum), frame, battery, etc... Laptops aren't cheap. Most laptops sold in stores are sold at razor thin margins of well under 5% so I doubt you'll be able to find a better deal elsewhere.

Eurocom is a good suggestion. Everything is wishful thinking but wishes come true. Someone out there may know of a deal, and seeing as how I'm looking to buy immediately and not skip my opportunity to take said deal, I'm posting on the forums. The Lenovo Y580 is $850 with an i5 and gtx660! There has to be something with an i5 and a GTX675 for 1300 with canadian shipping
