Well, sorry to disappoint you but Microsoft themselves have destroyed that hope by fragmenting their own market by making the Series S. The user base of Series X owners is way too small to make VR a viable proposition. On top of that Microsoft have just dissolved all their AR and VR teams. The train has passed .. MS are all Games as a Service now.

Why would anyone need an Xbox VR headset when there's PSVR2? This is a very silly article and ignorant too... MS just fired everyone working on VR and AR in the recent reduction of the company.

VR is as niche as the Kinect or motion control gaming was. Most gamers prefer touch, keyboard, mouse, or controller style games. Honestly VR just isn't as popular and despite the specs which are not bad if I'm using VR I prefer a more mobile option such as the Quest where you're not so restricted. Microsoft doesn't seem to find any value in it and if they did it would most likely just have Game Pass or Xbox first party games with a port specific to the Quest or other non PlayStation products because there is no need to create a headset with so many other options in such a small unproven market.

There's a portable Quest 2 headset already. Why would anyone buy a PSVR2 unless PS5 is strictly the only way you play games. Most of those games except the PS exclusives are on other platforms and the way Sony ports to PC it's only a matter of time before they port they games anyways. If they want to make any money that's what they'll end up doing before they kill it. It's dead already.

You're funny. You clearly don't understand the CPU on the S let alone the X. The S has full RDNA2 as well so I'm pretty sure the S could run it. My question is why would they? If you can already access Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox games on other platforms then why make your own headset and lose money. Just make your games and subscription compatible with the Quest and it's pure profit. Plus much like Game pass Ultimate it's play anywhere. Why restrict it to wherever the console is. Not many people use those things.

That's silly. Quest is a mobile device... Comparing Quest 2 to PSVR2 is like comparing Switch to PS5. It's the same power difference. The quality of games and hardware on the Quest is not comparable.
PSVR1 was the first successful VR device on the market. It was better and cheaper than competition and it sold well. Now it's the same situation, PSVR2 is cheaper and better than the competition and on top of that, the VR market has matured to the point where we have a lot higher quality games and hardware. Just having Call of The Mountain, Resident Evil 8, GT7 and Switchback on release as console exclusives is amazing. And on top of that we have a bunch of other games and multiplats that are improved versions of games. If that's not exciting to you, that's fine, we all like what we like. Xbox sales are dropping, so they need to first figure out how to make games and sell their console before they can even think about VR...

Why would anyone need a PSVR headset when there's an Oculus Quest Pro? This is a very silly comment and ignorant too... not everyone owns a PS5 or would want to get that specifically to play VR games.

And to get VR games on the Xbox would take probably require zero microsoft VR team people to do it, all they need to do is allow anyone's VR headset to be recognized as a usable headset and then allow some games that already have VR support by their own devs. The only reason they fired everyone from those teams is that they're giving up on trying to make their own hardware or platform for it. People who own Xbox and not PS5 also would like VR too, the article is valid and your criticism is weak to say the least. PSVR1 was not the first successful or the most successful VR on the market either. Both of those go to the oculus quest 1 and 2, and to mention power difference between quest and PSVR is also ignorant AF because you're ignoring that you can plug it into a PC and get better quality games and visuals than PSVR (call me when you get Half-life Alyx for example still one ofbthe best VR games ive ever played)

I get it, you are a playstation fan boi, but don't go around spitting out biased opinions as facts.
