Solved! Qosimio X70-A fails power-up failure

Performed the reset feature per: https://support.dynabook.com/support/viewContentDetail?contentId=4006186

With or without the battery in, the power button is pressed:

• red light encircles power- button
• red lighting illuminates keyboard for 1 second
• system goes dark

Are there any other trouble shooting processes?
Is this known failure mode? Is there a fix?

Removed the CMOS battery and the machine now boots. Why????

Removed the CMOS battery and the machine now boots. Why????

Does it boot when you put it back? If not, get another CMOS battery. If it fails even with a new one, that sounds like an issue with the motherboard.

I swapped out the old battery with the new battery: it failed to boot. For sh*ts and giggles I took out the battery and tried to boot it and voila!
