it seems that i have to go into this greenify app about once a week now and turn it back on. so did greenify go away or does android ver. 13 not need that app anymore? if that app is not actually being used i can delete it and move on. or is there a setting i'm mossing that will let greenify stay on? it seems the accessibility needs to be turned on all the time and screen overlay. so is this a now outdated app? thanks

As far as I know Greenify is still available but it’s not as effective on newer Android versions especially Android 13.
With features like Doze mode and Adaptive battery, Android’s power management has significantly improved. On top of that, Android 13 restricts background apps from running continuously which is likely why greenify keeps shutting off.

ok that explains that for me. when i first got this phone about 2 years ago i did not have this issue it seems to have started about a year ago, so maybe an update started this issue? so how do i enable doze mode? if it will do the same thing as greenify and then i can just remove greenify and let doze run if it is the same. it seems the battery runs longer with greenify as i tried not using greenify for a few days and my battery ran down a lot faster. that doze may be enable now but i do not recall being in that section. or can i turn off background for greenify? thanks

Doze mode is actually on by default in Android, but it only kicks in when your phone has been idle for a while. If you want to check if it’s working you can probably find it in the settings under Battery Optimization.
Try using just Doze mode for a few days and see how your battery holds up. If it works as well as Greenify, you can go ahead and uninstall Greenify. If not, you might want to keep using it.

ok i looked in the battery section and did not see a doze mode. and so i typed in the search for doze mode and got 2 returns one is modes and routines and no doze in that and qr code reader and i do not think doze is in that. but in the battery section i do see power saving and battery protection so i turned those on to see if they do the same thing as greenify. the next time greenify comes up to be turned back on i will leave it off and see how it goes. thanks
