Question about my camera

Good Day everyone,
I have a Canon powershot A3400 IS HD. Can I use it as a webcam?
I tried searching to google if it is possible, but I can't get a direct answer. I also tried to look the specs of this camera, but to be honest I can't understand almost half of it. I tried connecting it to my PC, but I can only access the memory. My computer does not detect it as a webcam. Please help...

You can't use it as a webcam connecting via the USB cable. The USB cable is for data transfer only. However you could try using the AV Cable AVC-DC400 and a video capture device. A video capture device can be found at B&H, Amazon, NewEgg and other sites.
