Did you try both front speaker mic ports, as well as the one in the back of your case? If they work in the back, you probably need to open your case and ensure the front panel wires are pushed all the way in your motherboard.

If not, it is probably your head set.

Do speakers or any other headset work? If not, then I guess it is your on board sound.
What kind of static? An audio file here would be best.

But, plugging an analogue microphone directly into your motherboard is always going to give you static. There's so much electrical activity going on in your computer that at the end of the day, it's almost impossible to shield properly, especially with cheapy Razer products.

I presume you've tried the mic socket on the back of your PC as well as the one on the front? The one at the back is directly to the motherboard, so less wiring to pick up interference...

Whenever there is static in the headphones or mic it usually tends to be poor grounding on the jack connection. Or poor shielding on the connection wires.

By chance are you using a Antec case?

It doesnt pick up my voice either

Here is a download for the audio file http://www.mediafire.com/listen/8v6z44pb4cvc87h/static.wav
