Receiver help - no audio output

I have a Yamaha Receiver V477 that will play video but not output sound. I have two devices hooked up to the receiver, a Samsung Blu-ray player and a Sony PS3. The hdmi out goes to a projector. Speakers are connected with banana plugs. There has to be a setting that I am missing somewhere, but have yet to find what I need to do.

You did go through the receiver set up and heard noise coming out of each of the speakers when they were balanced?
Did you hook up a radio antenna and get sound when playing that?
Check the input set up menu. It may be set for audio to come from another connection than HDMI.

I have been through the options and not seeing anything. When I did the YPAO speaker test I am getting an error E-10.

Yamaha manual says that if this reoccurs after exiting YPAO and turning the receiver off and on it's an internal problem. If you just got it get an exchange. Hope it's still under warranty.
