HI all. I need to record something from my laptop, which I can hook to my TV through an HDMI cable. But the DVD input has no HDMI - only AV. Is there any way I could get round this? I'd be so grateful for your clever answers!

Solution
If DVD has a DVI socket will work, DVI is just HDMI without audio, and u just need the proper cable.

But u already know the answer, what laptop puts out, video-wise must be accepted by DVD recorder.

Your last option maybe a HDMI to (whatever your DVD can take in) converter.
Hi. I would be recording with my Toshiba dvd recorder from my laptop, which I can view through my TV via an HDMI cable. I know one post said record direct with dvd hooked to laptop but my dvd recorder doesn't seem to have HDMI input socket
