recover deleted apps from smartphone

I deleted an app by mistake. When I try to download the app again it states it is already installed.

Is your phone rooted?

If it is, you should download a file browser app like ES File Manager and browse to the folder /system/app and check if the .apk file for the app is still present. If it is, delete it, then try to download it again.
