Red hands for spinning dancers

During the PBS broadcast of Paul Taylor's Dance co in Paris the palms of the dancers appears to be red while they are spinning. The background and costumes are very dark making for very high contrast. The faster they spin the brighter red their palms. Effect observed on 120hz and 240hz Samsung 42 and 55 flat screen lcd tvs. Is this a source or TV artifact?

in circular motion blood is forced to the extremities by centrifugal force. it could be that their hands really are redder.
