Red/Orange lines appearing on upper left side of my 5 year old Plasma 50" Samsung TV...

My Samsung 50" Plasma is nearly 5 years old and has been perfect until now a growing redish patch of lines that appears on upper left side of the screen. The back of the set at that spot is very hot. It appears about a half hour after turning on the set. Is this worth repairing?

I would not repair it, although it would be cheaper than a new 50" screen, the repair will not renew the warranty so next time something fails, which it could, you are again paying for the fix.

If you can do the labor yourself, then it may be worth a try.
