I have had this problem for a while. It is very hard for me to be gaming and have this constant tint or mist of red all the time. Here is some pics:

Ive tried updating drivers, letting it cool for 2 days and turning it off and on. Color calibration only makes the problem worse or slightly better.

What you see in the pictures are exactly what i see in real life and it is very frustrating. The red in the pictures are not a camera problem or anything like that the camera is normal. The problem seems to be the display. I dont know what is causing this. I use to just wait a couple of hours and it would come back to normal, but now it doesnt go back to normal and is just constant. any help is appreciated. thanks. by the way it is a dell inspiron 17r

Hi,

It's just either the actual LCD has gone bad or just a loose connection between the motherboard and the LCD or worst the graphics card is faulty. Try and connect an external monitor if available and see if you'll get the same result because if you do it's a bad graphics card but if not it's your LCD or a loose connection. You can open up your laptop and check the flex cable connecting the display to the motherboard making sure it's well seated and do also check for physical damage of the connector itself. Lastly, you can apply a sticky tape on the flex cable from both end to secure it's connection. If all these troubleshooting steps doesn't work if mean you'll need to change the display itself.

I dont believe it is a gpu issue as it is perfectly fine when connected to an external screen. So if the lcd has a loose connection, how difficult or easy would it be fix? Im mainly a desktop guy so this is a little confusing to me.
