What are your thoughts on buying refurbished laptops.

I'm supposed to be getting a laptop and I find these great deals, but they're refurbished and I'm not sure.

Nothing wrong with refurbished. you could of course read the reviews from the 78 people who have actually bought and used the ones you are asking about. Course they are out of stock so why bother

I have owned lots of refurbs, I prefer them over new.

I got a used Lenovo from eBay, runs great. It's a matter of doing a bit of research before you buy. One can get great deal on these used/refurb systems.
Of course, you will need to wipe it clean (I mean completely wipe it, not just format it) to be safe.

It looks good untill you look at the warranty:

Warranty

Limited Warranty period (parts): 90 days
Limited Warranty period (labor): 90 days


so you pay 1000$ for someting that has a silly warranty:

put 1200 $, you get 1 year warranty and it's brand new.
