Solved! Remote light burns

I changed the battery in my Tab 4 and not only did my tablet come on but the light for the remote came on and got so hot it burned a blister on my finger. Please help... I've been without my tablet for 3 months and want desperately to be able to use it again.

Error in my question, I meant to say tablet did not come on

Sounds like the replacement battery was not the right battery or it was a defective one.
