Solved! Replace and/or update

Hi
I have a cheap, old, Chinese tablet that I'd like to use again.
I've reset it and tried to update it but can't.

Google play doesn't work, as I can't use an existing account or make a new one either.

It can't update (Current version v2.0 Update time 2015/04/02)
It says "Online update - Unknown error" & "Local update - 0 packages in the local"

Model number / V11
Processor type / Quadcore A33
Android version / 4.4.2
Firmware version / v2.0
Kernel version / 3.4.39

Would it be possible to delete everything on it then install a newer version?

I'm not sure what the best option is, or is it a waste of time?

Those cheap tablets generally don't get good updates, if any, to the OS on them. You can try loading a stock newer Android version on it but it may work. The XDA developer site has good resources on Android and how to load the OS on devices https://www.xda-developers.com/
