Solved! Replace t8100 chip

I have an Hp Compaq 8710P with an Intel t8100 chip. Can I replace the t8100 with something faster?

It's not worth it. There are t9xxx chips, but you won't see much of a performance gain. Your best bet is to simply save up for a new laptop.
