I just posted about this topic. It is not required. If they attack you and try to convert you, you are allowed to kill them in defense of Islam. That is Jihad. All other forms of murder are not allowed/justified and all claims that they are are bogus.

Moses is even named as a prophet in the Qur'an, so Islam knows about the ten commandments, and should technically follow them. However, since Islam considers Mohammad the final prophet, his Qur'an pretty much trumps the Old Testament, the same way the New Testament is given more bearing in Christianity over the Old Testament.

Which is a round about way of saying, he did not technically quote the wrong religion.

Actually it's "Thou shalt not murder", so killing people can be justified since it's not "murder". I forget where but there is a section of the old testimate called "A Time for Everything" which includes a time for war. Besides, those are the Jewish 10 commandments. I'm not 100% but I think Islam splits off before that happened.
