[citation][nom]legacy7955[/nom]Tom's are YOU thinking of taking the bait from ZD? If so I won't continue to come to your site.[/citation]

Nothing to worry about, ZD is trying to get the best tech sites.

It's obvious that user privacy is of no concern to Ziff-Davis or any tech site that's willing to destroy their own reputation to invade the privacy of their users..... If I find out that any site I visit is taking pay-offs from Ziff-Davis, I'll block java-script and blacklist the sites...as well as send a few anonymous e-mails to a few people in high places.

The list of quality tech websites diminishes faster every day and with people like Wolfgang posting tripe in here I am seriously considering only reading articles by Jane McEntegart and even then only for the fap-factor (sorry Jane, only saying what everyone else is thinking).

@back_by_demand:

You are right. The way I see it Apple must be paying off all these tech sites to spam them with Apple fodder..or should I say Apple crApple.

This is a serious threat to us, folks. This is why we need an Internet 2.0 that's engineered from the ground up to be more private and secure.

Thy can track all th sits i visit, how much porn i dl, and how much time i play broodwar.

The day they can offer me something really interesting ill actually look for it myself, but so far, they are so missguided that its a useless way for banner makers to get some cash :D.

Yep, wouldn't hurt for Tom's to disclose their partners like Bizo tracking users from this page.

[citation][nom]reggieray[/nom]I am counting and blocking 12 trackers on this page alone, Tom's is one of the worst for tracking.[/citation]
Oh dear Tom's, writing an inflammatory article about a competitor for tracking and then being caught with a hand in the cookie jar doing the same thing?

Hypocritical double standard?

Like cats_paw above I couldn't give a monkeys if I am being tracked or not but your credibility takes a huge hit when you do things like this, should have thought twice before posting this article.

Yeah sure then we can only go to "authorized" sites. But authorized accord to "whom".

"internet 2" is a aim to restrict users from choices. Of course that would help the few folks that control the media in the world..

"Internet 2" and "the cloud" are two of the biggest threats to ordinary users having access to information that TPTB don't want us to have.
