Requesting assistance in finding the right laptop.

Like many others, I'm here because I need some help figuring out what laptop would be best for me. I searched and read through other threads (in fact, I remember rummaging through here in the past), but this hasn't successfully shown me what product would be my best choice.

First off, just a bit of background information. I travel multiple times a year for extended periods of time, so, unless you know of a slim yet powerful desktop, I need to go with a laptop. I'm not an extremely hardcore gamer, but I'm interested in expanding my reach and would like to play new games with at least somewhat high tier settings.

My budget is set somewhere around 2,000 US dollars, but I'm fine with going a bit past that margin if necessary. Anything over $3,000 is too much, though.

I would love to give more information that would guide you in helping me, but my knowledge on this subject is clearly lacking. I'm open to any questions that you believe would help.

You can get a top tier gaming laptop with your budget, but what else are you looking for in this machine?

What else will you be doing on it? Word, Videos, CAD very now and then?
Do you have a prefrence on screen size?
"IF" it were me, I would go with the New Razer Blade.
But what are you wanting to get out of this laptop? It helps us narrow down the choices.

Sorry for not being too specific. For screen size, I'm looking for something large, 17" preferably. Not to massive though, as it needs to be portable. The main use of this laptop will be to run various MMOs, such as Guild Wars 2. As for the Razor Blade, I remember reading poor reviews, but that must be for the older one. I'll look into that, thank you.

EDIT: I looked into the new Razor Blade and it seems to be priced well above others in its class.

Not everyone will agree on what laptop to get, but here a few key things to keep an eye out for:

At least a Quad-Core CPU. (Preferably Intel Core i5, not hating on AMD, but their CPU's do use more power which means that your battery will take a hit. And a lot of MMO's really appreciate the extra cores. Also don't be tricked into another CPU because of a slight clock difference. 2.2GHz, 2.3 and 2.4GHz will all feel and perform the same)

Dedicated GPU (Go for at least a 660-680M, there is no reason to game without a real graphics card and a 680 is the best for under 1000)

At least 8GB of RAM (Lot's of resource intensive stuff)

Fairly large HDD (Need plenty of room to store games and stuffs)

1920x1080p Resolution (Do I need to say more here)

At this price range I would be surprised if you did not find a machine with an SSD.
