Are you trying to restore it back to the original factory conditions? There should be a recovery partition or various DVD/CD's that came with it. I'm unsure of how to access the recovery partition in HP/Compaqs, but it should be something like ctrl+f11 when you first turn on the laptop (just Google "access Compaq recovery partition).

dont mess with bios, the rule is if its not broken dont fix it. u mess with it u lose it
