after you install your os do windows update and do not add antivirus (the system defender that came with modern windows is enough)
then do not add any unnecessary so called apps. stay away from them.

edit: adblock plus extension for your browsers excepted.

Once you get your new PC the way you like it, make an image backup which will let you return to it in the future. Many free and paid products to do that, and your Windows version might allow for this as well.
