Ryzen 5 with vega 8 graphics, or AMD A12-9720p?

Looking to pick up a new laptop and it doesn't need to be able to do anything crazy other than code/browse and maybe audio recording/media stuff.

I would definitely like for it to play games like Overwatch, Maplestory2 and Black Squad etc.

Is there any noticeable benefit over getting a laptop with the newer Ryzen 5 chip(vega 8 graphics)? Been looking at gaming benchmarks for the AMD A12, and it seems to do pretty well with games and I'd only be spending 300 versus 380-420ish. But there arn't any direct comparisons and consistency between benchmark videos i find.

Here is a comparison of Ryzen 5 2500U and A12-9720p. In short, A12 gets absolutely destroyed by Ryzen in all areas.

Get Ryzen by all means. A12 is a truly outdated platform and not worth buying in 2018.

EDIT: the benchmark only shows CPU performance difference. What it doesnt show is the iGPU difference, which is even larger. Vega 8 is great (for iGPU, at least).
