Safe To Erase Setup Files From Hard Drive?

I have a gazillion setup files in my "Downloads" folder. So my question is, "After I download a setup file to install a program, is it safe to erase that setup file from my computer or does the program that it installed depend on it to function? Thanks everyone!

yes it is safe to erase you will still have the program installed.
