should i get the geforce go 7950 gtx or 8800m gtx?

if i chose the 8800 the laptop will cost $465 more.

i think its worth the price to get the 7950

what do you think?
 
Keep in mind the typical 3dmark06 score for a single 7950GTX is a little over 5K. The typical score for a single 8800mGTX is over 8K. If you want the best current performer, it's the 8800. If you don't mind an older card with lack of DX10 support, get the 7950, it's still a very capable card.
 
does the Intel 1GB TurboMemory Module only work with vista? because i want to get this because it will make the laptop faster and use less energy. but i think i will remove vista from it and install xp. will it still work?
 
The Turbomemory, while good in theory, doesn't work too well in practise.

I'll assume you play modern games (why else would you consider the 5792?) so I'd suggest you get the 8800m GTX if you can afford it. That way, you'll last farther into the future, or else in a year or two you might be smacking yourself because your laptop can't play the games well anymore.

Even if you play CounterStrike, the massive overkill caused by the 8800 will trickle down into your elite n00b ownage powers, unlocking the hidden "PWN N00B" ability that will be triggered whenever your mana fills up. 😀 (I'm joking btw)
 
ok so on sagernotebooks the 7950gtx is no longer a option =(
so im ordering it with the 8800mgtx from xoticpc.com cause its cheaper
