Pricewise there's no way a gaming laptop would be practical for me (minimum wage at a convienient store!), and I don't travel a whole lot. As it stands I'm satisfied with my PC

But, if someone say... offered me that laptop for say $100 I'd totally snag it!

I dont agree with njalterio and roadrunner 197069 (I dont say they are wrong its their ideas but i have a difference idea :) )

Because SAGER NP2962 story is differenceIMO, its truly a desktop replacement u can carry it where u go, also the price is expensive but its completely worth it IMO because it has DESKTOP CPU + SLI +3x HDD

NJ and roadrunner: you forget that for some, a desktop is just not practical. Some people need the ability to take a PC with them when they travel or use it for work. I know people who use powerful laptops only because they are on the road 5 out of 7 days and enjoy having the ability to play games in their downtime.

I'm with Maz on this one. I'm not saying that you are wrong, but there are certain situations where desktops just aren't useful.

Also, yes, a light mid tower may weight about as much, but that doesn't factor in any speakers, keyboards, monitors, mice etc. I use a laptop because it's everything I need in one package, which means a quick setup when I have to move locations.

I also agree. I've been using desktops all my life, had a few laptops here and there, but I've been really frustrated with them all. They were all underpowered, bad battery life, lots of failures. I do a lot of shows and movies, dances, recordings, and of course lan parties, and I need to take my PC with me a lot. Hauling my desktop around, plus one (or two) monitors is a pain, and it's a pain to set it back up when i get home, rewiring it to make it look decent around my desk and putting back up my ze5300e speakers. (not that that will change with a laptop)
Add that up, and consider I'm going away to college, a laptop is a must. I'm still taking my desktop to school, but it'll stay in my dorm...it's my backup pc, along with my tv. I gladly paid $2500 for the ability to take my top machine everywhere. I've been wanting a $1200 desktop config for a while, but when I considered all this, I just dropped it.

Also, hardware doesn't change in the mobile arena as fast as it does in the desktop arena. Top-of-the-line stays so just a bit longer. How long after the 8800 release was it before we saw a glimpse of the 8800m GTX?

maybe after 6 months the new Geforce 9 series will come out but i dont think the difference will be alot (like 8800GTX VS 9800GTX)

also laptops doesnt have alot of problems that desktops have, i may get the mighty NP9262 and give my desktop to my sister if i can go to university in this year( going to university is very difficult in IRAN, u have 2 read 30 books in 9 months and compete with about 400000-500000 people )

WOW! I must have one for my own! IMO, this is well worth the money...for someone that spends half his life in hotels like I do and still want to game. Especially with Left4Dead coming out...this would be perfect!
