It sounds like you may need a new battery. That is what usually heats up.

However, if you are not comfortable replacing it yourself, you may wish to take it in to have someone look at it and see if it is indeed the battery or something else that is causing the problems. I would suggest doing it soon, as you don't want it to fry anything.
