Samsung Galaxy S3 won't recognize charger when battery is in or power on

I was using my S3 last night and suddenly it powered off. I tried to power it back on and it didn't work. I then tried to plug in a charger to see if it had just died but that did nothing for it either. When I remove the battery from my phone and plug in a charger the phone vibrates and has the red light for a few seconds and then it turns back off. When I plug the battery back in it vibrates and then loads the first Samsung screen but then powers off and I cannot do anything with it.

This is happening to me on my s3 as well.

I have run a bunch of virus checkers and they don't find anything.

I think it must be a update to the os.
I am going to order a new battery and are if that helps.
